Matt Grzelcyk resigns with the Boston Bruins
The Boston Bruins have re-signed defenceman Matt Grzelcyk to a four-year, $14.75 million per season, according to TSN Hockey Insider Pierre LeBrun. Grzelcyk, 26, is a restricted free agent with the Bruins who will carry an average annual value of $3.8675 million. He was set to have his arbitration meeting on Tuesday. He scored four goals and 17 assists in 68 games last season.
“It was important for Matt to stay with the Bruins. He grew up a huge fan and loves the organization. I knew that Don Sweeney wanted to get a deal done before arbitration and we worked hard this week to get a deal done,” says Peter Fish, who reps Grzelcyk with Peter Donatelli

Cody Ceci signs a 1 year, $1.25 million deal with the Pittsburgh Penguins. Good fit for both and opportunity for Ceci to reset like others are doing on short term deals.

The 26 years-old Ceci spent last year with the Toronto Maple Leafs. With the Leafs, he scored one goal and recorded eight points in 56 games last season. During the playoff, Ceci had one point in five games as the Maple Leafs were eliminated in the playoff qualifying round by the Columbus Blue Jackets. The one year signing may be seen as a year to rebuild his status of a top pair defenceman. Ceci will likely fill the hole created by Justin Schultz.
The Penguins have agreed to terms with defenseman Cody Ceci on a one-year contract.
The contract runs through the 2020.21 season and is valued at $1.25 million.
